Dungeon Quest

The new popular roblox game on the rise. At the current time of writing this, Dungeon Quest has been #1 on the popular page for 3 days straight, beating both Mad City and JailBreak.

Dungeon Quest is a simulator-like game, the core mechanic being repeating an action over and over again. That action would be killing monsters in a dungeon. Even though it is LIKE a simulator game, it definetly has some other features that make it stand out, and even if you would consider this a simulator game, it definetly hides it well and makes itself seem like a real game.

Like I’ve mentioned before, In Dungeon Quest, you kill monsters in dungeons, in return, you get coins, EXP, and sometimes even loot! After doing a dungeon, you’re sent back to the lobby, where you can meet other players, trade, sell, upgrade, and test out your weapons. To upgrade weapons, players would walk into the blacksmith and spend their coins on a single weapon to increase its damage, spell power, and health (if you’re upgrading armor). When you level up, you can select to upgrade one of these three stats, and they’ll save no matter what armor or gear you’re wearing.

The downside to this game is, even though it may be addicting to grind out and such, it definetly feels very repetitive to constantly kill the same enemy and boss in the same dungeon over and over again, only unlocking new dungeons every 50 levels or so. Even as a simulator game, this game offers too little new content, and too slowly as well, making the game get dull and boring quickly.

Overall Score: 5/10 , 7/10 (In terms of simulator games)

Bubble Gum Simulator

This is the first simulator game I’m reviewing on this blog, so this game review will be a little different. Since we’re reviewing a simulator, we’re gonna look at this in the terms of a simulator, and from the standards of a simulator.

Bubble Gum Simulator is a simulator where you can click and hold to blow bubbles. You can blow this bubble as large as your current gum type. After blowing a bubble, you can sell it for coins. You could use these coins to buy better gum types and flavors. Buying better gum types lets you have a larger bubble capacity, while buying better flavors give you more bubbles per blow.

Now with all the simulator-y mechanics out of the way, we get into the meat of the game. By blowing larger bubbles, you can jump higher and higher, allowing you to jump onto a cloud and continue climbing upwards. Continuing to climb upwards will make you reach islands. On each island there are different things, treasure chest, shops, reward exchanges, and even currency exchanges.

Other than coins, there are also gems, which the player can use to buy eggs with pet in them. These pets give you gems or coins multipliers. These pets have different rarities, from commons, to legendaries. A large part of this game’s community is centered around these pets. People can trade around these pets for other pets, and people post comments on forums discussing potential trades to other people.

Once you earn enough coins, you can get to other worlds, which is basically starting over, but you keep your pets and gems.

Overall Score: 8/10 (In terms of a simulator game)

New Roblox Event: Pizza Party

Roblox has just started their new event, Pizza Party. This event is mainly about shooting pizzas and getting prizes if an admin, developer, or someone in the star program, shoots a pizza at you. There’s 19 games in this event, as well as 4 prizes, a main prize, and one free item every player can get. The four prizes are the Boombox Backpack, the Balloon Pauldrons, the Pinata Hat, and the Royal Party Hat. The main prize is a pair of Watermelon Wings, which you can get by getting all the other prizes. There are also 3 extra prizes that are exclusive to admins, star members, and developers, being the Disco Ball Helmet, Purple Party Flo, and the Pizza Mohawk, respectively.

The community is at a split to the response to the game. Some players love the fact that Roblox is exploring new mechanics in events, and the overall uniqueness of this event. Other players say that this new mechanic stops a lot of players from actually getting the prizes, since most of the admins, star members, and developers tend to live in the west, people in asia and other timezones might be left out, and having to play in the middle of the night to actually get prizes.

Ragdoll Mayhem

Ragdoll Mayhem is a multiplayer fighting games with 4 different gamemodes, Free For All, Elimination, Team Deathmatch, and Boss Battle. These 4 gamemodes can be played on a wide range of maps, and exclusive maps for each different Boss Battle. In Free For All, players fight each other and aim to gain the most points and kills, and being able to respawn, also the lowest deaths. Eliminaton is very similar to Free For All, the difference being you can’t respawn in Elimination, making it a much more tense game where one mistake can get you killed. In Team Deathmatch, players are assorted into 2 different teams and brawl it out, not being able to respawn, and friendly fire being off. Boss Battle is a special gamemode compared to the others because in Boss Battle, one player that runs to the middle and interacts with the item on the ground first becomes the Boss. The Boss is equipped with strong weapons and very high health, and other players must work together to kill the Boss.

In Ragdoll Mayhem, players are given a diverse selection of weapons to use from SMGs, to Dual Pistols, to Sniper Rifles. Players can also use Items to give themselves an upper hand. These Items range from your typical grenade, to void bombs, to soda cans.

My only problem with the game is the slightly broken movement. Sometimes you can jump and dive across the map, but other times you can’t even jump over a small ledge.

Overall Score: 9.5/10
